Election Day, 2016

I'm sure I"m not the only teacher thinking that this has been a concerning election cycle. For the first time in my career, I had to deal with the election without... dealing with the election... in my classroom.

I was inspired by a NASA tweet and decided to focus our day on Votes from Space. My 4th graders had just one question to answer... In how many presidential elections have US astronauts voted from space?

I provided a collection of resources - articles, websites, tweets, videos - which my students used to figure out the answer to this pressing question. It was a great election day - information management, inquiry, drawing conclusions... all the good stuff. And none of the bad.
